Located on the southern outskirts of Gisburn, Shuttleworth Solar Farm generates 5MW of renewable, carbon-free electricity.  The fields containing the solar panels were seeded with a wildflower and grass seed-mix in order to maximise the biodiversity value of the area between the solar panels and up to the existing field margins.

Furthermore, hedgerow enhancement was undertaken along the site's perimeters to promote biodiversity and improve visual screening.

The solar farm was built in 2016 with the panels connected to the on-site electrical distribution grid.
