Who We Are?
Island Green Power UK Limited (Island GP) is a leading developer of solar photovoltaic (PV) energy plants. We are focused on the development of large scale "Utility Size" plants. Island GP is led by an experienced management team with significant experience in the solar industry.
We have a proven track record in the development of solar projects and our work involves all aspects of PV project development; site appraisal, obtaining all the required authorizations, permits and consents, financing and construction oversight. The PV plants that are successfully developed are either maintained in our own portfolio or sold to our institutional investor partners.
We are based in London, UK with regional offices in Norwich, UK, Barcelona, Spain, Southern California, USA & Sydney, Australia. Island GP has a number of projects under development in Australia, Ireland, UK, USA & Spain. Other markets that have the potential for solar development are being actively explored.

Mr. Ian LawrieChief Executive, Director
Ian has considerable experience within the renewable energy, conventional energy and finance sectors. He founded Liberty Asset Management in 1996, which grew to become one of Ireland's largest independent financial services companies with assets under management of €300m. In 2002, Liberty was acquired by Eureko, a major European Insurance Conglomerate. In 1999, whilst still at Liberty, Ian was the founding shareholder of Tara Energy Services Limited and its US subsidiary the Colorado based Tara Energy Inc. This company initially invested €25m into oil & gas exploration in proved undeveloped locations in Texas, Pennsylvania and Utah and has oil and gas wells that are still in production today. He also co-founded and was managing director Scientia Solar a European renewable energy company which developed and constructed twelve Solar Power Plants in Italy. He has a solid network of connections in this industry and is particularly knowledgeable on the oversight of projects from conception to completion.
Mr. Colm KilleenExecutive Director
A director of Island Green Power, Colm is an experienced renewable energy executive with over 6 years experience in the Solar PV Sector, he is responsible for the origination and oversight of greenfield development projects from conception to completion. He has significant experience having overseen the successful development of more than 100MWs of projects which are now owned by some of the worlds largest solar investors. Prior to joining Island Green Power, Colm was one of the founders and a director of Scientia Solar, An Independant Power Producer which developed, constructed and operated twelve Solar PV Plants in Italy. He is widely respected in the industry and has a wealth of connections; he is the Irish representative to the World Solar Foundation – a global organisation focused on promoting Sustainable Energy Supply and consumption lead by a board consisting of former world leaders, diplomats and industry executives. Before his involvement in the renewable energy industry Colm owned a real estate development company which completed several developments in Eastern Europe in partnership with institutional investors. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Dave ElvinHead of Projects - UK and Ireland
Dave joined Island UK in July 2013 and is responsible for the day to day project management of the company’s solar projects. Dave has spent 20 years working in senior management roles in the engineering and automotive industries, managing teams and successful projects in the UK and mainland Europe. This has involved him in leading complex component engineering, procurement exercises and quality management for Vauxhall and component manufacturers. As General Manager at Holden he was responsible for strategy and operations of their start-up Motability business, delivering bespoke vehicle engineering solutions to clients. He has retained a “hands on” approach to engineering and is a practical problem solver.
Mr. Alessio AruHead of Design
Alessio joined the Island Green Power team in 2014. He is responsible for system design, yield assessment, and project management of our worldwide solar development function. Alessio has worked in a similar role in the Renewable Energy sector since 2012. He has been involved in the development of over 200MW of projects in UK, which are now built and are operational. Previously Alessio worked in the construction industry as a project designer, building surveyor and site manager. He has a technical approach to problem solving and is a real team player.
Mr. Philip JohnSenior Investment Manager
Philip joined Island Green Power in 2016 and is responsible for investment appraisal, acquisitions and disposals. Philip has a wealth of experience in the renewable energy sector having financed and delivered 175MW of renewable energy assets and transacted on over £290m of deals across the renewable energy chain. Prior to joining Island Green Power, he was part of the investment team at Low Carbon a leading UK project developer and asset owner. Before Low Carbon, Philip spent four years in investment banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he worked across healthcare M&A, EMEA corporate coverage, business management and derivative sales. Philip holds two postgraduate degrees in finance (MFin from Judge Business School, Cambridge University and MSc Finance & Economic from London School of Economics) and graduated with 1st Class Honours from London School of Economics (BSc Economics). While at Cambridge University, Philip wrote a paper on the “Profitability of UK Solar Parks."
Mr. Paul LongmoreChief Financial Officer
Paul Longmore has a background in corporate finance, structured finance, property asset management, business operations & commodities trading gained over 30 years internationally. Between 2010 and 2015 Paul provided debt and corporate restructuring advice to several key players in the Irish market including Lloyds Banking Group, Blackstone & Deutsche Bank. Following an early career in banking and corporate finance, Paul joined Trafigura during its startup phase working in Budapest, Geneva and London. Trafigura has become one of the world’s largest independent oil and commodities trading businesses (turnover in 2016 exceeded $98 billion). Paul has co-founded and sold a number of businesses most notably as co-founder of corporate health provider vielife which he sold to global health service provider Cigna Health in 2004. Paul is Founder / Director of UK asset management business Tate Green Limited and is an advisory board member to several international businesses. Paul is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, holds an MBA in International Management from The European University, Geneva and is a Member of The Institute for Turnaround in the UK.
